Edinburgh Piano Moves

Edinburgh Piano Moves is a removals company based in Edinburgh with over 35 years of experience in piano moving. It has moved 20,000 pianos and serves the whole of the UK, making regular trips throughout Europe. The company specialises in all types of piano moves, from small uprights to concert grand pianos, and in difficult access and stairs. It is fully insured, with insurance coverage from the start to the end of the move. Protective covers and shoes are used on all pianos moved, and specialist piano trolleys with rubber wheels protect flooring.

Carpets are covered during moves to protect against dirt. Bespoke crates are built for each piano. Domestic and international services are offered. Piano hire is available for concerts, weddings, and events. Repair, refurbishment, and re-polishing services are offered through partners and colleagues. Piano disposal and recycling are also provided. The company has moved hundreds of pianos for Fettes College over two decades and has moved pianos for Edinburgh Napier University. Gerald Love is associated with the company. A window of an hour's notice is provided where possible for delivery.

Edinburgh-based Edinburgh Piano Moves has built its reputation on the careful handling of instruments that other movers turn down. Reviewers often describe difficult jobs being completed with speed and composure, including a six-foot grand manoeuvred up a tight staircase after another firm had withdrawn, and a heavy upright retrieved from a third-floor flat in a fraction of the expected time.

Several customers highlight the team's methodical approach, with different dollies swapped in according to the floor surface and both the instrument and surrounding walls protected throughout. Gerald and his colleagues are named for their calm, professional manner and for explaining each stage from the first conversation through to delivery, including an upright transported from Carlisle on short notice and a piano that travelled from the capital to Chesterfield and arrived in perfect condition and exactly on schedule.

Reviewers also note that quotes were considered fair or competitive and that slots were offered remarkably quickly, while a cast iron bath was moved when no one else would take it on. Communication is described as prompt and clear before, during and after each job, and the same crews are praised for their courteous, cheerful attitude at the point of completion. The result is a service that customers associate with thoroughness, protection of property and a stress-free experience from loading to final placement.
